Upper Division Fitness Program
The Fitness Program is a structured physical fitness class composed of strength training, cardiovascular endurance training, and flexibility training in line with guidelines provided for adolescent exercise minimums from the American Medical Academy. Class meets Monday through Thursday from 3:45-4:45, unless the school week is shortened; then the class will meet Monday through the second-to-last day of the school week.
The aim is to serve as a college preparatory fitness class, preparing student-athletes for the college weight room and for the fitness classes provided or required by many universities. The hope is that, by exposing them to varied fitness methods, we can teach student-athletes to be successful in all of these areas of fitness and provide a balanced platform for maintaining health in the future. Attendance is paramount, as this class is a participation course. Student-athletes who arrive to class unprepared for physical fitness may be counted as absent. Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of this course.
