International Students
Admission Procedures for International Students
Casady School issues I-20s to international students and complies with all practices as recommended by SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System). Casady School is certified to enroll international students (F-1 Visa) but is not eligible to enroll foreign exchange students who come to the U.S. on a Cultural Exchange (J-1 Visa) at this time. Additional information on US student visas is available here. Currently, the school does not allow for any child under the 9th grade to participate in the International Student program, however exceptions can be made based on the circumstances of the student and the family.
International students must adhere to the same admission process as all other candidates. Upon acceptance, full tuition, lunch fees, and a deposit are required upon enrollment and prior to the I-20 being issued. The deposit is in place to cover incidental fees accrued throughout the year. At this time, financial assistance is not available to international students.
Once an international student is enrolled and has arrived in the United States, the Office of Admission will schedule a meeting with both the international student and their Host Family (in some cases, the Host Family may be the natural family). The purpose of the meeting is to outline timelines and expectations for the coming year and to meet all the needs of the I-20 process.
In an effort to provide support to international students, a member of the Student Wellness and Learning Services team will conduct two check-in meetings for each year that an international student is enrolled. They will also make themselves available throughout the year and will assist in identifying other campus personnel who may serve as additional support if and when needed. Casady’s systems will provide much needed support and stability on a consistent basis throughout the year.

Homestay Policy
Casady School’s Homestay Policy allows for both international and domestics students to participate. A domestic student would participate in the homestay program if they are living with anyone other than their natural family or guardian. Currently, the School does not allow for any child under the 9th grade to participate in the Homestay Policy, however exceptions can be made based on the circumstances of the student and the family.
Casady School does not currently provide boarding or matching services for host families. All parents/guardians of homestay students must complete a Homestay Consent Form, which will be retained in the student’s file. The host family must then submit information and consent for a criminal background check for each adult living in the home to be performed by the school. If the background checks clear, the host family will be approved and will become the first point of contact during the student’s enrollment at Casady.

Once an international student is accepted, the enrollment contract is submitted, and tuition and fees are paid, the Admission Office issues an I-20 through the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) website. This enables students to obtain an F-1 visa. The school currently has a Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) and a Designated School Official (DSO).
The school is required to maintain documentation verifying the student’s status at the school. As members of the Department of Homeland Security, the PDSO and DSO must register each student upon the start of each trimester and transfer them out upon either graduation or withdrawal. If the student is transferring to another school, either a university or another private school, the PDSO or DSO must transfer the SEVIS record to the appropriate school.

- Proof of financial ability to meet tuition obligation
