Releasing Butterflies During Family Fun Day

A cherished Casady tradition, first grade students experienced the joy and wonder of releasing Monarch butterflies.
The LD Cyclones and their parents gathered in Casady’s Butterfly Garden during the First Grade Family Fun Event to wish their winged friends well after watching them grow up from caterpillars, to chrysalises, to butterflies. PreK students also released butterflies earlier the same day.

Hatching and releasing butterflies provides students with the opportunity to observe and learn about the life cycle firsthand and fosters a sense of responsibility and empathy.
