Primary and Lower Division Service Learning

The Casady Service Learning Program aligns with the School mission and the Portrait of a Graduate to develop excellence, confidence, and integrity in the youngest of the Cyclones. Through Service Learning, it aims to empower students to realize their potential to make a difference in the community in mind, body, and spirit.

The Primary Division is Montessori-based. Its Service Learning Program connects the youngest students to excellence and to Maria Montessori’s belief that “Global peace begins in the classroom.” Throughout the year, Primary Division partners with Iris Memory Care in Nichols Hills to provide holiday cards and drawings to encourage residents.

Lower Division students engage in service integrated into the curriculum as directed by the classroom teachers. Compassion and empathy are cultivated through the reading of age appropriate stories about social justice issues such as hunger, homelessness, Veterans’ issues, and environmental concerns. Both Primary and Lower Divisions celebrate International Peace Day and participate in school-wide drives.
