Boys' Cross Country Takes State

Varsity Cross Country traveled to Edmond Santa Fe High School last weekend to run in the State Championship Meet.
Both the boys' and girls' teams had high expectations, and looked forward to competing with the best teams in the state of Oklahoma.

The Casady girls ran a tough race, ultimately finishing fourth overall. Junior Hope Fahler led the way for the Cyclones, followed by sophomore Caroline Olszewski, senior Eva Scheer, freshman Lila Garabelli, and sophomore Adeline Hanneman.

The boys entered as the favorites in their race. They delivered a monumental performance, beating Class 3A running powerhouse Sequoyah High School by 42 points. The Cyclone boys are now back-to-back state champions for Class 3A. Casady was led by junior Billy Mathis, senior Sam Rhoades, senior Ayden Kerr, senior Ashton Hale, and senior Josh Goggins. This was significant achievement by these young men!

Individually, Casady boasted four athletes winning all-state recognition this year: Fahler, Mathis, Kerr, and Rhoades. Hale received all-star recognition for his 15th place finish.
